Hi! We're excited you've found your way to Raising Girls. We be this communicate to be a community for folks who God has placed in the lives of girls. Whether you're her parent her grandparent her teacher or her counselor you have something unique to offer the girl in your life. It is our wish to help you discover what that is--in many ways. We be to share with you our thoughts from sitting with girls on a daily basis in our counseling office we be you to overlap your thoughts on raising girls with each other and we'll even include a few thoughts from girls themselves. We'll go away with a little more information about who we are. Melissa is the Executive Director of Daystar Counseling Ministries. She actually began working with kids at the age of 16. Her youth assort didn't undergo a youth director so she volunteered to be it. Since that time she has been a youth director at a variety of churches a retreat leader a Bible and English teacher the continue of spiritual life at a middle and upper educate and the founder of Daystar. Today. Melissa spends her measure counseling children and adults keeping Daystar and our summer camp running smoothly teaching parenting classes teaching kids writing reading riding her ride and playing with her dog Molasses. Sissy came on the scene with Daystar a few years later. As a have student at Vanderbilt she interviewed with Melissa in 1993 for a position as an confine. Knowing she wanted to bring home the bacon with kids in an environment that was relational and fun but also had the opportunity to share Christ with kids in the deepest places of their hearts.
